Here are some helpful tips on what to look for when searching for a technician for permanent makeup:

āœ…Are they certified/licensed? Make sure your practitioner has received the proper training and working LEGALLY. In the state of New Jersey they need to be certified by the AAM. If they're located inside a nail salon, hair salon, or in the basement of their home RUN! šŸƒā€ It is illegal to do any permanent makeup in any salon or at home. Permanent makeup must be done in a licensed facility and inspected by Board of Health.

āœ…Is their practice safe? During your consultation take a look around. Is their practice clean and safe? Is everything sterile? Did they mention they only use disposable tools? Disposable blades/needles are the safest. Make sure when getting your procedure done that all tables are wrapped and covered and your practitioner is wearing GLOVES! If nothing is covered who knows what type of disease is still lingering around that area 🤢😷

āœ…Check out their work Take a look at the practitioner's portfolio. See if you like their work. If they don't have pictures of their own work, only pictures of other people's work consider this a red flag 🚫

āœ…Lastly, make sure you're comfortable! Be sure your practitioner answers all your questions so you won't be left guessing. If you feel rushed and unsure then maybe find someone else. If you're 110% sure then go for it!
